Banff Gondola
The Banff Gondola is just a five-minute car ride away from downtown Banff, located across from the Banff Upper Hot Springs. Not only is the gondola ride itself a neat experience, but the 8 minutes you spend climbing up to the top of Sulphur Mountain are a lot of fun - for kids and adults alike. Our kids just love seeing the forest and other moutains from this bird's perspective.
Once at the summit, you can enjoy views of Banff and breathtaking mountain ranges at an elevation of 2,281m (7,486 ft) above sea level. The Upper Gondola Terminal offers visitors a 360 degree view of the Bow Valley.
At the summit. The gondola upper terminal offers restaurant options, a gift shop and a spectacular roof top observation area with interpretive material giving directions and distances to major cities of the world and commemorating the area's designation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
