Jasper Transportation

JASPER TRANSPORTATION: BUSES & TAXIS

BUSES

Jasper does not have a bus transit system but there is the Greyhound Bus Terminal located in the Jasper Train Station. There is regular Greyhound Bus service to and from Vancouver, BC and Edmonton, AB. If you want to get to Calgary, you must transfer in Edmonton as the Greyhounds do not run on the Icefield Parkway. Daytime trip is about 9 hours (with transfer) and night trip is about 11 hours.

INSIDER TIP: BREWSTER TRANSPORTATION

Brewster Transportation does offer a South Express from Jasper to Lake Louise - Banff - Downtown Calgary - Calgary Airport (7.5 - 8 hours). If you are looking for a more scenic ride, the J9 Tour which shows you many breathtaking sights along the way from Jasper to Banff, stopping of course in Lake Louise.

HEY YOU BACKPACKERS & BUDGET TRAVELLERS!!

Are you going to be in Jasper but want to fly out of Calgary the following day? There is a solution to paying for a night's stay in Calgary by travelling by night. You could take the overnighter Greyhound Bus from Jasper via Edmonton to Calgary. At the time of writing this was the posted schedule:
JASPER, AB: 07:00pm
EDMONTON, AB: 12:15am
CALGARY AIRPORT, AB: 05:30am

This may work for you, if they are still running it. Make sure you check the Greyhound website for current schedules to plan your trip as effectively as possible. www.greyhound.ca

Another possibility of departure out of Jasper I have looked into is with the Mountain Connector Airport Shuttle Service which operated December 16, 2006 to April 28, 2007. (Just as an idea for next winter, if they keep it the same.) The Mountain Connector works together with the Jasper-Banff Daily Connector, so you could travel to Banff and then use their Banff - Calgary service from there. If you would like to travel to Jasper, you can join the Jasper-Banff Daily Connector in Banff at 1:30 pm and you should arrive in Jasper by 5:15. These times were valid at the time of writing, and are given just as ideas to help you in your planning. Please check current schedules for the Mountain Connector at: www.sundogtours.com
