The Calgary International Airport is located in the north-east of Calgary, about 20 minutes from downtown Calgary. Calgary Airport Authority reported 9.2 million passengers (2004) making it Canada's fourth busiest airport.
Calgary's flight service to many destinations in the world have become more frequent making it easier for you to fly when it suits you. An example of this is the five-time weekly Boeing 777 service from Calgary non-stop to London, Heathrow. Check the Calgary International Airport website for flights and destinations.
CHECKING-IN
Travelling by air is getting easier and easier. Many passengers are now choosing to use the on-line web check-in or Calgary Airport Authority self-service kiosks. Either are an opportunity to make checking in a quick and efficient experience!
For visitors going to the United States, there is a preclearance facility which opens at 0430hrs daily for your convenience.
PARKING
There are four parking options at the Calgary International Airport:

in the parkade (which is Canadian for building or structure used for the parking of motor vehicles!). Maximum vehicle clearance is 2.0m. There is also an Overheight Parking Area for oversize vehicles as well as a 450-stall surface parking lot (which in Canadian is nothing more than a space divided into stalls for motor vehicles. Valet parking is available on the departures level roadway.

YYC GOES SMOKE-FREE IN 2007
The Calgary Airport Authority announced that it the Calgary International Airport air terminal facility will be smoke-free as of April 1, 2007. In general this is the trend in Canadian society as workplace health and safety become more of an issue. There has also been an increased demand for non-smoking bar and departure lounge seating. For all of you smokers, travelling by air can be difficult. Look for outdoor designated smoking facilities which are there for your covenience away from entrance doors or other high-traffic pedestrian areas.
